You can store cheese in your refrigerator, but the best flavour is achieved by storing it in a dry basement. Basement temperatures are typically somewhere around 15 degrees Celsius, which is the perfect temperature for Gouda cheese. If you don’t have access to a basement, the best thing to do is to take the cheese out of the fridge at least 15 minutes before using it, allowing your cheese to adjust to temperature in its authentic wrapping. You will notice the improved flavour.
