The so called Dutch ‘graskaas’, literally ‘grassy cheese’, is a particular sort of cheese that is made with the milk of cows that have been put away in stables throughout the winter period, but have just been released into the meadows. These cows now eat grass instead of the provender that they have been given in the winter months. Because of this change of diet the milk these cows now provide is particularly good, and thus the grassy cheese that is made with such milk is tastier as well.

Grassy cheese is nice and soft with a smooth taste. Grassy cheese is an extra quality cheese with less salt, matured naturally for 4 weeks.
