Origin

The Reblochon de Savoie AOP Fruitier has its origins in the Thônes valley in Haute-Savoie, France and dates from the 13th century. At that time the Alpine farmer was obliged to hand over part of his milk to the owner of the meadow. After returning the required amount of milk, the cattle were milked again (reblocher). From this milk, which was very rich in cream, the Reblochon was produced. This cheese has been awarded the AOC quality mark. The milk from which the cheese is produced comes exclusively from the mountain cows of the Abondance, Montbéliarde or Tarine breeds.

Combination

This delicious French cheese goes well with an appetizer. Thanks to the creamy, sweet taste, the cheese is also delicious in a savory pie or simply on a slice of bread. As soon as the barbecue is allowed outside again, you can also roast this cheese on the barbecue. This results in a true pleasure. Of course you can also prepare a specialty of Savoy such as tartiflette or pela with the Reblochon. Combine this with a light, fruity red wine.
