Cheeses from Boer'n Trots, originating from Landgoed Kaamps in Twente, guarantee pure innovation and sublime craftsmanship. The creation of this specific 'Maple Syrup Whiskey' cheese is a wonderful story in itself. The idea arose thanks to a request from a customer from Canada, who was specifically looking for a high-quality cheese with added liquor. The cheese makers at Kaamps took on the challenge and decided to combine the creamy cheese with Canadian whiskey enriched with maple syrup.
During the preparation and ripening process, the cheese is lovingly washed with this special drink. This gives the cheese (which inherently already has a buttery soft, 50+ structure) a very specific and layered flavor profile. The dairy absorbs the subtle, earthy and woody notes of the whiskey, while the maple syrup simultaneously provides a round, sweet and extremely pleasant aftertaste. It is a fantastic and surprising taste sensation that absolutely steals the show on a luxurious cheese board.
