The rich history of Val Taleggio
The Taleggio D.O.P. is one of the oldest soft cheeses in Italy. Its origin lies in the Val Taleggio, a beautiful valley in the Lombardy region. The D.O.P. (Denominazione di Origine Protetta) quality mark guarantees that this cheese is produced strictly according to the traditional method and exclusively in this specific Northern Italian region. The cheese stands out due to its square shape and the characteristic orange-pink, washed rind.
Do not be put off by the somewhat strong, aromatic smell of the rind. The dairy underneath is surprisingly soft, supple and creamy. The taste is mild, buttery and slightly fruity with a very subtle sweetness. Due to its excellent melting properties, Taleggio is not only fantastic on a luxurious cheese board with grapes and a good glass of wine, but also an absolute star in warm dishes such as risotto, polenta or over a fresh pizza.

Freshly cut, vacuum-packed and shipped cooled
Your 500 g piece is cut fresh only after you order, and vacuum-packed straight away. The cheese is then shipped cooled to your door. Keep the cheese in the fridge and take it out about half an hour before serving to get the most flavour.
