Van Schier Wildpluk brings the essence of Schiermonnikoog to the cheese lover. Inspired by the island's rich nature, this cheese combines pure craftsmanship with wild, salty flavours. The addition of sea lettuce, sea salt, samphire, sea buckthorn and dulse creates a refined interplay between the soft creaminess of the cheese and the fresh, salty notes of the sea.
The milk, from sustainably kept cows, is pasteurised at 72°C, making the cheese naturally lactose-free and gluten-free. Because the milk is not skimmed, the cheese remains full and creamy, with a deeper taste experience than standard cheeses.
Van Schier Wildpluk is a product of sustainability and respect for nature. The farmers of Schiermonnikoog have consciously reduced their livestock by 40% to reduce nitrogen emissions and strengthen biodiversity on the island.
